Usually, loneliness does not bother you. You press your fingers against the soft skin of your thighs and smile. You’re happy. You are, but. Sometimes, it gets too much. The sting of another couple, the burn of being called ‘miss’, it’s like water dripping down down the cracks of your armor to rust at the precious little core you call safe.
And for a couple of days, you’re raw. You”ll cry, sob, be the loneliness you hate and suffer. Then, it’s just building. Layer on layer, one on one, until it’s just you and no one can tell the difference. It’s just you.
